First of all, I am deeply apologetic to all my blog readers who follow me and always give me positive feedback, despite me having been an awful blogger lately. I've had an awful lot going on, I've hardly been at home and I've felt more uninspired than ever before, all this plus a lack of a camera = lack of blog posts, particularly outfit posts. All I've managed to post recently is magazine editorials, which lack individuality when it comes to blogging however (hopefully) do inspire. I am eagerly awaiting the end of this year, so I can mark 2012 not only my 21st birthday but a milestone for a fresh start, and perhaps a slightly new image. For those of you who want to keep up to date with what I'm doing, you can follow me on tumblr or twitter, the links are to the right.
With regards to this editorial, although it's from Vogue UK and the issue has been out for a while so most of you have probably seen it - I still felt the need to post it on this blog. Lara Stone looks like an ideal member of ABBA and pays tribute to the seventies perfectly with her turqoise eyeshadow, turtleneck jumpers and sleek, blonde hair. Seeing as this is primarily a sixties and seventies style blog, I thought this fit in perfectly.

WHITE HOT GLISTENING SHADOWY GLOW

Although this editorial has been splashed across the fashion blogs for a little while now and many of you may have already seen it, I felt the need to re-post it, so those of you who haven't yet seen it can. It's always so refreshing to come across editorials or campaigns based on the sixties and seventies style and with a name like 'Almost Famous' you almost instantly know what the influences will be. With thanks to the likes of Spanish Moss and American Gold's creativity and ever growing success, the bohemian style of late 1960's California has sprung back into the fashion and blogging world again. Not to mention the influences from Wicca, religion and Native Americans, alltogether creating the whole 'bohemian' image.
This editorial depicts typical rock n' roll scenes that could so easily be stills from Cameron Crowe's Almost Famous film. Girls draped in feathers, fur, glitter & kohl, showing their love and appreciation to a dandy guy with a guitar. Always so inspiring. Not just the clothes, but the lifestyle.

Failing better words - an amazing photoshoot inspired by the groupies of the sixties and seventies for http://www.ilovewildfox.com/. I would love to do a photoshoot like this - capturing that scene with those clothes can really make you feel like you're living in 1969 again. I just wish it wasn't all a dream.

Paisley ...

Paisley is a retro print which adds a 70's boho edge to your outfit .... it was seen on numerous catwalks for SS11 and looks great teamed with denim.

Today I am wearing a retro Paisley Print Tunic with Leggings and Vest from H & M ....

HEARTBREAKER, YOUR TIME HAS COME, CAN'T TAKE YOUR EVIL WAYS

A post dedicated to the ultimate rock n' roll heroes of all time. A band that never gets old. You never get tired of rocking out to Led Zeppelin. The perfect band for listening to whilst getting ready, whilst going on a drive or whilst preparing for a gig, or if you just fancy a bit of classic rock n' roll. Their music set the scene for many metal/hard rock bands in the future, as their music was way ahead of their time. Whilst other bands of the early seventies were playing folk music and progressive rock, Led Zeppelin created a music never heard before, 'hard rock', but at the same time, it was still influenced by early blues musicians. They made themselves famous not only for their music, but for their reputation for being the epitomy of 'rock n' roll' and notorious sex villains, after groupies had kiss & told about them. Especially the stories about Jimmy Page and his suitcase full of leather whips which still gives me the shivers after reading about it all in their Hammer of the Gods biography and Pamela Des Barres' books. Jimmy Page alone is a fascinating person, someone with lots of mystique about him (apparently being a satanist), and Robert Plant purely for that voice & his medieval sorcerer looks. I am slowly getting into a Led Zeppelin phase again through listening to Heartbreaker this morning after an off few months and itend to keep it this way.

5. Black Dog (another rock n' roll classic)

5 facts about Led Zeppelin you may or may not know:
1. They were all Pagans, particularly Plant & Page.
2. Supposedly Jimmy Page's black magic interest & practice caused the death of John Bonham & various other negative incidents.
3. Supposedly if you play Stairway to Heaven backwards it is chanting for the devil, this was meant on purpose.
4. Led Zeppelin originally called themselves 'the new Yardbirds' for their first tour, mainly due to Jimmy Page's earlier work with the Yardbirds.
5. Led Zeppelin deliberately mis-spelled the first part of their name so that American's could pronounce it without mistake.
