YOU'VE COME TO REALISE...

An outfit slightly different to the usual things you've seen me wearing on here. Incase you hadn't known already, I am obsessed with Dalmatian print, and when I saw & heard it was going to be in for this season (thanks to Topshop Unique) I was so excited. Obviously I don't want to dress myself head to toe in it so I swore to myself that I would only buy one dalmatian print item... which was originally this little bag. (I'll get onto that later). Today I went to London and spent most of the day in Topshop Oxford Circus. Four rules: have your wits about you, walk fast, don't stand still in a corner for too long and don't wear 6 inch heels. Also, don't get angsty with the girl who barges past you to grab the last kimono from the 'Sale Rail', she knows what she's doing. Anyway, so I went there initially to buy the shoes in the post below. After having tried them on, I realised they were totally impractical and I would be too scared to wear them due to how fragile the gold heel is. So instead, I bought the dalmatian print Angie boots - yes, more dalmatian print. I am in love with them, so I'll have to do an outfit post with them soon. Outfit: Everything Topshop.

BUT AFTER TIME HAS WORN AWAY THE SHOCK...

I did a post here back in February; http://whothefuckismickjagger.blogspot.com/2011/02/if-she-doesnt-scare-you-no-evil-thing.html. This was when I saw the Topshop Unique fall 2011 show for the first time. Now that it has actually somewhat 'officially' reached fall 2011 - this event being marked by the horrific English weather and the current showing of fashion week for S/S 2012 - it seems that dalmatian print is finally allowed to be worn. The Topshop Unique fall 2011 collection has been unleashed onto the website and is now available to buy in the official Flagship London Oxford Circus store. Not over-priced for an official designers' collection, which it is, you'd expect more (the garments and accessories range from a mere £50 to £300). However, for those who still want to pull off the eye catching trend but aren't sure about paying too much, Topshop are also selling dalmatian print products from their own brand, which are the usual Topshop prices.

A very 1930's collection, not only featuring faux fur and dalmatian print, but also evening gowns, silk jumpsuits and Art Deco design shirts. The whole collection reminds me of a rich and elegant upper class New Yorker, who wears fur, dabbles with men she shouldn't and smokes from a cigarette holder - stereotypically - Cruella De Ville.

The reason that this collection has been a main focus and obsession of mine ever since I laid eyes on it is because 101 Dalmatians was my favourite Disney movie from a young age. Cruella De Ville as a character was my first introduction to fashion. (No, I didn't think everyone was out to kill puppies), but I had developed an opinion of the fashion industry from watching this film that it was fast paced, eccentric, unpredictable and glamorous. I have always thought that the movie is somewhat different from the other Disney films... a more artistic approach and a more adult story line. Which you can instantly perceive from the opening credits - London portrayed through a black & white colour scheme, black & white spots everywhere and a fast jazz musical theme playing in the background.

Ever since I have been interested in the fashion industry, which has been since I was about 14 years old, I had not once seen a collection inspired by the villainous character which is Disney's interpretation of a fashion mastermind, and I always expected to. I had not seen any dalmatian print atall. Up until now. Which is why, naturally, I was so excited about the Topshop Unique collection. Of course, I am not going to be splashing myself in head to toe dalmatian print, so I think I'll be buying the 'Angie' boots which are £75 (and not actually part of the Unique collection). If I could afford it, I would buy it all, just so I can dress up like Cruella De Ville for the rest of my life and pretend I am an elegant 1930's crazy old woman.

70’s Flares ....

Give your wardrobe some flare with 70’s style trousers. These jeans are the most comfy jeans I have ever worn and that is a big statement coming from someone who is not a fan of jeans!

So I have to admit that I am quite smitten with the floral trend this season ...... investing in quite a few items splashed with flowers.

OH MY GOD, SHOES

Topshop seem to have gone all 60's with their shoes recently with square block heels and colour blocking. The block heels remind me of Twiggy and Swinging London in the mid sixties, and the colours, my favourite probably being the yellow 'Juniper' shoe really make a statement (also comes in pink & black). I will 100% be buying the top black & white 'Jig' pair on pay day and I'm planning on outfits to wear with them already. All shoes from Topshop priced between £46 and £60.

Pleats Please!

So after my post about the Carrie Skirt I have become obsessed with finding a cheaper version before payday and my luck was in when I came accross this pleated number from Damart.co.uk for just £25! YAY! Plus it comes in lots of colours and lengths .. I have my eye on the dusky rose too!

Today I am wearing my Navy Pleated Sunray Skirt from Damart - it fits and feels amazing! I am teaming it with a Topshop Striped T-Shirt and some Shoe Boots from Tescos ....

Celebrities have been seen sportng this kooky look too in the past few weeks including Fearne Cotton and Emily Browning!

PAMELA LOVE FOR TOPSHOP.

When I heard that everyone's favourite Paganistic jewellery designer was collaborating with everyone's favourite high street store Topshop, I was more than excited. Knowing that the collection could easily be bought from a store rather than ordering over the internet from America, and also expecting the prices to be substansially lower than usual designer jewellery standards. However, I felt mildly dissapointed when I heard the prices were near enough the same as a piece from her ordinary collection, and the designs seem to have lost all her originality, as if to be 'toned down' for Topshop. (I'm sure Philip Green had slight problems with the skulls and Wicca symbols and his high street store being turned into a near enough spirituality shop, especially due to all the gypsy summer trends). Don't get me wrong, from what I've seen of the collection so far - see above, her designs are still appealing and are clearly influenced by her interest for Native America and the 70's, just not as appealing as her original jewellery collections from what I've seen before. I think I would rather pay £10 extra and wait 20 days for an original claw cuff to arrive in the post than get the train to Oxford Street and queue for ages for something that almost every other girl in Britain will soon be wearing around her neck. Pamela Love's collaboration with Topshop arrives in store and online in the UK on 19th May.

I Love Stripes!

I have to admit that I have a slight addiction to stripes!

They are a staple in my wardrobe and I think I have at least 10 striped items that I wear religiously! It is a reliable trend that works all year round and comes back to the catwalks year after year.

The preppy, nautical trend is set to stay aboard this season after a big presence on the catwalks; it is a versatile and très chic trend that will see you stay afloat well into the summer. Nautical is such an easy trend to embrace and looks great on anyone. Perfect teamed with Denim shorts or Chinos in the summer with my favourite hairstyle of the moment – the top knot!

Today I am wearing a striped T-Shirt from Topshop with some Topshop Chinos and Ugg Ballet pumps (which have fur lining and are so cosy and warm). 

Some Celebrities who have been embracing this trend include Kate Moss and Alexa Chung.

MIND FLOWERS

Blouson dress by Meadham Kirchhoff for Topshop. £220. I love the way the top half of the dress looks slightly oversized yet the bottom half turns into a fishtail, I've only ever seen that design on glamorous ball gown type dresses, obviously this one's an exception, it's like a boho dress with a unique shape. I was debating saving my pennies to buy this, but I'm a funny one when it comes to buying clothes that look too similar to each other & I already own a similar dress that was my mum's in the seventies, so I'll probably give it a miss... sad times.

AMIE

I impulsively bought these Topshop 'Amie' shoes today, I've wanted them for ages because they were reduced to £50 but I couldn't find my size and assumed they were sold out everywhere. So this morning, for £30 on ebay I found a pair of lookalikes and ordered them. Four hours later in the most unsuspected Topshop ever I found a pair in my size and they had been reduced to £40, so I bought them aswell. So now, I have to wait for the ebay ones to be delivered, only to send them back and get a refund. What a waste of effort! So basically that's the story of my hunt for these shoes, and now that I own them I can't stop looking at them. Today was such a nice sunny day, but as a result, my hayfever and polymorphic light eruption occured, which means it's the start of a 6 month cycle of dosing up on pills and slapping on the factor 50+. Happy start of Summertime!

SWEET DISPOSITION

Two sets I just created on Polyvore (which I haven't used in three years) based on my own clothes and two ideas of potential outfits I have stored in my head. I really want to wear these outfits but where on earth can I get away with wearing them when I live in a tiny village and unfortunately as per usual I am not attending any of the fashion weeks. When I do eventually get this camera, I will wear both these outfits and post them. By then, hopefully I'll have found somewhere suitable to wear them to as well.

MY EYES HAVE SEEN YOU

I said that today was going to be a productive day and that I would wake up at 9am to get all sorts of things done, instead I woke up at 12pm because I had a dream about my (beautiful) old school teacher - WHAT A MAN. Once I was up I thought I should maybe do something slightly productive like take photos of things to put on ebay and then I realised I don't have a digital camera. Instead... I decided to take photos of my shoes on my Blackberry.

I realised all my shoes are in such bad condition, the heels are falling off, they're all grubby, it's horrible. Who in their right mind would treat their beloved shoes like that.

8 - Black suede heels from Next (wore to mum's hen night & wedding, incredibly difficult to walk in).

9 - DOCS! Bought from the Doc Marten shop in Covent Garden,

10 - Red & black 1960's loafers from a vintage store (another of my favourites).

11 - Black lace up trainer style heels from Topshop.

12 - Furry leopard print 'Keef' style boots (my lovers, bought for £75 only to find out they'd been reduced to £30 two weeks after I bought them).
