MERRY CHRISTMAS FROM COVENT GARDEN

Hi guys - (those of you that don't resent me yet). This has been my busiest Christmas ever so far, I've been away from home or occupied every moment of the day, which is highly unusual for me. Yesterday it was nice to escape to Covent Garden, to have a wander and do some remaining bits of Christmas shopping. Covent Garden's always a beautiful place to be anyway, but at Christmas they always make the effort to turn it into a little dream land. The only really frustrating thing is the amount of people, you can't walk in a straight line. But I suppose that's to be expected in Central London at Christmas time. With only three days left until Christmas I am beyond excited, like a little girl all over again. Anyway, in this outfit I'm wearing a gorgeous pair of new boots which I bought from the lovely Morven -
(morven-catsandrockingchairs.blogspot.com). They're comfortable, practical and the perfect colour to go with anything in my wardrobe, beyond happy, and I wore them to London because I wanted to show them off. Hope everyone has a lovely Christmas! Lucia. xo.

YOU'VE COME TO REALISE...

An outfit slightly different to the usual things you've seen me wearing on here. Incase you hadn't known already, I am obsessed with Dalmatian print, and when I saw & heard it was going to be in for this season (thanks to Topshop Unique) I was so excited. Obviously I don't want to dress myself head to toe in it so I swore to myself that I would only buy one dalmatian print item... which was originally this little bag. (I'll get onto that later). Today I went to London and spent most of the day in Topshop Oxford Circus. Four rules: have your wits about you, walk fast, don't stand still in a corner for too long and don't wear 6 inch heels. Also, don't get angsty with the girl who barges past you to grab the last kimono from the 'Sale Rail', she knows what she's doing. Anyway, so I went there initially to buy the shoes in the post below. After having tried them on, I realised they were totally impractical and I would be too scared to wear them due to how fragile the gold heel is. So instead, I bought the dalmatian print Angie boots - yes, more dalmatian print. I am in love with them, so I'll have to do an outfit post with them soon. Outfit: Everything Topshop.

THAT'S NOT YOUR BOTTLE, NOR WHAT'S INSIDE

I have completely neglected the blog this past week again, I have been at work every single day and have had no time atall for anything, I haven't even been able to think. It's been driving me insane, work has become so demanding that I've had no spare time to do any shopping, any meeting friends or any parcel posting, let alone any thinking. I have been sitting there, day by day, couting down the days until I can do the huge list of things that need to get done. Now the dreaded 9 days of work have finished, I have a whole 6 days off and the chance to catch up with everything I have been missing. (Caity Aurora Watson - if you're reading this, I WILL post your parcel this week!) Amidst all this, I officially started my Open University course yesterday so need to get started on this essay, yeah, busy busy busy. I have been experiencing huge wanderlust, more than ever, and I've come up with a plan which has made me feel a bit more positive, but I won't reveal it just yet. In other news, I should be getting an SLR soon, so no more dodgy Blackberry outfit photos and hello organisation & nice photography. I will be posting more frequently during this week, I promise, as I can actually find time for inspiration, rather than my mind being cluttered with unescessary paperwork. Although, I do need to find the time to fit in how I am going to go about describing the relationship between Antony & Cleopatra in less than 500 words, wish me luck!

TWO CAN PLAY THAT GAME

Photos of me & Amber in London like old times. We walked miles, I got blisters, we bought Black Devil cigs in Selfridges, we gazed at the shoes & food halls, we drank a bottle of wine for lunch, we danced in the toilets, we had our runes read, and it all ended up with me spilling a drink over band merchandise which I felt really bad about because I can't go anywhere without making a disaster of something. This morning I had a photographer from the newspaper come to my house for Miss England, was a bit awkward really and I've got another one coming at 2pm, I'm having doubts about this competition. xo

THE SUNSHINE UNDERGROUND

Yesterday I spent the day in London, intentionally for a hospital trip. After that dreadfully grim experience, we ventured onto Oxford Street to Topshop as I was on a hunt for some corduroy bootleg black trousers. As usual the store was mega busy, the end of fashion week, and I couldn't find my trousers. Instead I found my friend Amber (who works there) and heard David Koma and Melanie Rickey (editor from Grazia magazine and blogger) were answering fashion Q&A's on the first floor. They arrived fashionably late and as David Koma literally brushed passed my shoulder ''excuse me darling'' - I suddenly thought back to a couple of years ago when I was a fashion student, when fashion was the only thing I wanted to do with my life and when I won that competiton with Heat mag for being 'most stylish woman in the UK' - God knows how that happened. Watching them both and being in London during fashion week, seeing all these people my age who have exactly the same dreams as I do has inspired me to go back to my roots and get back into fashion. Not only to start blogging more but to continue to study fashion and work my way up in having a career in the industry. Afterall, it is one of the only things I was ever any good at.

WONDERFUL TODAY

The last couple of days have been very dramatic - to say the least. Friday I spent with work friends having drinks in bars, didn't think it would be appropriate to take pictures for fear of 'look at me taking pictures with all the people I work with!' comments. Saturday I went with my mum to see the musical We Will Rock You at the theatre in London. The show itself was fantastic, well choreographed, great costumes and obviously great music by Queen. It was well worth seeing and will make anyone (who doesn't already) really appreciate rock music. I dragged her down Tottenham Court Road and we dithered about for a while, I love the guitar shops down there and the people you see. Every now and then you got to see a London Fashion Week atendee dash past you with arms full of coffees, cameras and papers, and a LFW tag swinging from their neck. However, the most valuable thing I spotted down Tottenham Court Road was a man, I won't go into too much detail because I don't want to spoil it but all I can say is I will spend the rest of my days searching for him, just to see him again and this time actually talk to him. Today I spent the day at work which was rather stressful. This week is going to be busy and productive... along with catching up on all the fashion shows on style.com and fashion blogs.
