MERRY CHRISTMAS FROM COVENT GARDEN

Hi guys - (those of you that don't resent me yet). This has been my busiest Christmas ever so far, I've been away from home or occupied every moment of the day, which is highly unusual for me. Yesterday it was nice to escape to Covent Garden, to have a wander and do some remaining bits of Christmas shopping. Covent Garden's always a beautiful place to be anyway, but at Christmas they always make the effort to turn it into a little dream land. The only really frustrating thing is the amount of people, you can't walk in a straight line. But I suppose that's to be expected in Central London at Christmas time. With only three days left until Christmas I am beyond excited, like a little girl all over again. Anyway, in this outfit I'm wearing a gorgeous pair of new boots which I bought from the lovely Morven -
(morven-catsandrockingchairs.blogspot.com). They're comfortable, practical and the perfect colour to go with anything in my wardrobe, beyond happy, and I wore them to London because I wanted to show them off. Hope everyone has a lovely Christmas! Lucia. xo.

I BEEN DOWN SO GOD DAMN LONG, THAT IT LOOKS LIKE UP TO ME

HELLO! Firstly - thank you all for being such kind and devoted followers because even though I've been a crap blogger as of late, you've all still been leaving lovely comments and some have been following me on tumblr. I finally feel like I'm back down to earth after having a chocka block month, and I know this is commonly said but I really do promise more frequent posting. I go through phases, if you hadn't noticed. Outfit wise - you all know how much I love Cruelle De Vil/101 Dalmatians, and I've been talking about these booties for a while now, so here they are. They're comfortable at first, but after wearing them for 9 hours straight they really hurt the ball of your foot, despite still being easy to walk in. But, as most of us sacrifice our health and safety for fashion anyway, they're definitely worth the buy.

YOU'VE COME TO REALISE...

An outfit slightly different to the usual things you've seen me wearing on here. Incase you hadn't known already, I am obsessed with Dalmatian print, and when I saw & heard it was going to be in for this season (thanks to Topshop Unique) I was so excited. Obviously I don't want to dress myself head to toe in it so I swore to myself that I would only buy one dalmatian print item... which was originally this little bag. (I'll get onto that later). Today I went to London and spent most of the day in Topshop Oxford Circus. Four rules: have your wits about you, walk fast, don't stand still in a corner for too long and don't wear 6 inch heels. Also, don't get angsty with the girl who barges past you to grab the last kimono from the 'Sale Rail', she knows what she's doing. Anyway, so I went there initially to buy the shoes in the post below. After having tried them on, I realised they were totally impractical and I would be too scared to wear them due to how fragile the gold heel is. So instead, I bought the dalmatian print Angie boots - yes, more dalmatian print. I am in love with them, so I'll have to do an outfit post with them soon. Outfit: Everything Topshop.

ECHOES ON

Some photos from the ridiculously windy evening spent in Brighton. We went to see the Pierces (you can see my post on the band here; http://whothefuckismickjagger.blogspot.com/2011/08/pierces.html). They were 100x better than I expected live. As you walked into the venue there was very appropriately Stevie Nicks blaring through the speakers, then as the band came on the opening music was the hooting of owls, wind, rain, and a picturesque background of a giant moon in the night sky. They really managed to set the scene for their music and show off their Pagan vibe to the huge audience watching (the show was sold out). They played hits from their most recent & acclaimed album You & I, but also songs I've never heard before from their old album, which I've been listening to all day. Their voices sound beautiful together, even more so in person than on a record, and they performed some extra special un-released songs for the audience. As for their clothes & appearance, they always look fantastic. The girls have the most immense aura about them which just makes every single person in the audience stop, stare, and gaze at them in absolute awe... a gig definitely worth the time, effort & money.

I've just arrived home after a fun-filled three days staying with my friend at university and my body feels absolutely broken. My mind isn't working properly, so I'll leave you with these pictures which I took a little while ago, and my favourite song of the moment by a new found band I truly love (which I will post about seperately). I had a major panic moment yesterday when I went onto the OU website to have a chat with some fellow students in the online forums, only to find out alot of them have already begun on their first assignments. I then heard that alot of them are ahead and we don't have to officially begin until Monday 10th October. Panic over. Has anyone else reading this studied with the OU?! Did you find it difficult? I need some insiders' advice. I am off to stay with my friend at uni for the rest of this week so this will be the last clutter-full of posts until Friday more than likely - see I told you I promised frequent posting!

THAT'S NOT YOUR BOTTLE, NOR WHAT'S INSIDE

I have completely neglected the blog this past week again, I have been at work every single day and have had no time atall for anything, I haven't even been able to think. It's been driving me insane, work has become so demanding that I've had no spare time to do any shopping, any meeting friends or any parcel posting, let alone any thinking. I have been sitting there, day by day, couting down the days until I can do the huge list of things that need to get done. Now the dreaded 9 days of work have finished, I have a whole 6 days off and the chance to catch up with everything I have been missing. (Caity Aurora Watson - if you're reading this, I WILL post your parcel this week!) Amidst all this, I officially started my Open University course yesterday so need to get started on this essay, yeah, busy busy busy. I have been experiencing huge wanderlust, more than ever, and I've come up with a plan which has made me feel a bit more positive, but I won't reveal it just yet. In other news, I should be getting an SLR soon, so no more dodgy Blackberry outfit photos and hello organisation & nice photography. I will be posting more frequently during this week, I promise, as I can actually find time for inspiration, rather than my mind being cluttered with unescessary paperwork. Although, I do need to find the time to fit in how I am going to go about describing the relationship between Antony & Cleopatra in less than 500 words, wish me luck!

HAPPY BUT ON MY WAY

Bringing out the Autumnal colours; browns, golds, yellows, mustards. Although by this afternoon it became way too hot to be wearing a fur coat. Maybe it's a bit early & I should stay with the summer clothes still? Having said that, English weather is SO unpredictable. This evening I am going to a gig to see a friends' band & I'll be wearing my new American Gold trousers for the first time out, I hope they're easy to dance in... I'll let you know the results. This time last year I saw the band and I broke my finger because I fell onto an empty wine glass, missed the whole gig & ended up in A&E until 6am. Hopefully won't have a repeat performance this time. Happy Friday everyone, have a good weekend! I haven't post in over a week and feel tremendously guilty about it. I have been busy working - not that it's making me much money. First of all, I want to say thank you to all of you who voted for me in the ASOS fashion finder competition, still awaiting the results! (I'll let you know if I do well, obviously, as most of it is thanks to all the readers who have voted). Secondly, these pictures are a bit morbid, I think I am oozing some kind of negativity in my face which makes the pictures look so dreary. Don't you think, whenever you're happy in yourself photographs always show it?! Well this is the opposite. I don't know what's been wrong with me this past week. People are letting me down left, right & centre and I feel a bit low. On a more positive note, I am starting my Open University course within the next couple of weeks and beyond excited about it, this is not sarcasm. I can't wait to have something to focus on and to be studying again! Also, it's September, which not only means that August went by RIDICULOUSLY fast and that the summer is completely over (it ended 3 months ago in the UK before it began), but also it means that the world of fashion has gone all hoo haa in excitement for the S/S 2012 shows beggining this month. I can't wait to see what's in store for next summer in the clothing department... although I'm only just breaking in to the winter wardrobe. Topshop have some amazing stock in, some of their best I've ever seen, I need to get my hands on those Red Pyramid boots, you know the ones?! Anyway, back to this outfit. The background is not as oh, so, sceneic as the last few sets of outfit photos I've shared as unfortunately I am in my back garden rather than the mountains of southern Italy. I have been lusting over American Gold & Spanish Moss clothes for such a long time so when I found these American Gold bell bottoms in the ASOS sale I had to get them, and they're perfect. I now feel like a proud owner of such a special garment (sad, I know).
