BLACK SWAN

I went to see Black Swan at the cinema last night, I was terrified that it would be 'acidic' which is my term for anything that involves psychedelia, flashbacks and generally people losing their minds. I was relieved when it didn't turn out to be acidic atall, just completely weird. I haven't seen Natalie Portman's acting before, I never watched Star Wars or anything else she was in, but she played the part of Nina Sayers incredibly well, considering it involes killing someone, lesbian encounters, masturbation, sex AND ballet dancing, the latter probably being most difficult. Is Natalie Portman a ballet dancer? If she isn't then she should be, she's surprisingly good at it and has exactly the right figure. The film in general had very good acting, costumes (but then again what would you expect for a film involving ballet) and of course a fantastic story line. I won't spoil it entirely for you, even though there was a minor plot spoiler in there... go see it yourself. And, as usual, I left the cinema wishing I was a ballet dancer. Which always seems to happen to me every time I watch a film about ballet, or go to see a ballet, or listen to Tchaikovsky.
