Inspired by Kate from http://c4rousel.blogspot.com/ I decided to post the 'Facebook 30 day song challenge' onto my blog, rather than Facebook, so my friend's Facebook walls don't have to be spammed with hundreds of youtube videos from me, instead they can view them all on here if they choose to. However, I gave up after 9 songs because posting 30 would make my whole blog look incredibly long. Maybe I'll do another 10 or so in another post.
Day 1 - your favourite song. This piece of music was played to me ever since I was an embryo (I hope that's what an embryo is) and it's quickly became my favourite piece of music ever, so much so that I want it played at my funeral and the guitar solo in the middle has made me weep a few times before.
Day 2 - your least favourite song. Katy Perry annoys me so much, and this song is hugely overplayed. The lyrics & the tune are so repetitive and how shall I say it - dull - that I can't bear to listen to it.
Day 3 - A song that makes you happy. Rhapsody in Blue is another of my favourite pieces of music of all time, I want to see the Strictly Gerswhin ballet in London. I love Disney's view on the song, their cartoon of New York in Fantasia 2000, and every time I listen to this piece of music I get an image of New York in the 30's.
Day 4 - A song that makes you sad. This song is beautiful but so upsetting! The lyrics & the tune make me feel sad, but I think maybe in a good way.
Day 5 - A song that reminds you of someone. My dad used to sing me this when I was little and when I re discovered it a few years ago I couldn't stop listening to it. It's from my favourite album of all time, and every time I hear this it reminds me of my dad.
Day 6 - A song that reminds you of somewhere. Italia! I always listen to this song on my ipod when driving around peasant villages in Southern Italy, I always connect it to little old Italian folk smoking their cigars and playing cards in the midday Italian sunshine outside a coffee shop.
Day 7 - A song that reminds you of a certain event. One word - psychedelia! This song takes me back to a specific moment in time when I was literally in another universe.
Day 8 - A song that you know all the words to. I belt this one out quite often when I'm on my own, it's probably the most played song on my itunes.
Day 9 - A song that you can dance to. One of the only songs I ever dance to, which isn't very good really because it's NEVER PLAYED ANYWHERE, but I find it alot easier to dance to than Rihanna.
