i finally finished reading i'm with the band at work. i was trying not to cry! it's so sad the way she writes about her life from the early sixties until the late seventies and how gradually along the way rockstars die and people change and move on. the part where she concludes it made my eyes water, 'what are the GTO's doing now?' and she writes what happened to each and every one. and also each and every one of her old lovers. how she gets phonecalls and letters letting her know that jimi hendrix had died, jim morrison had died, elvis had died. also how rock n roll detiriorated as it became the late 70's and how everything changed. how there were new groupies on the scene like lori lightning & sable starr and how they took the piss out of pamela when she really was the original and secretly all of led zeppelin loved her so much more than the young ones (who didn't even use birth control). it is really sad... because it was such a good era and so much happened but then people died and people got old and music became WORSE. pamela des barres is and always will be one of the most iconic symbols of rock n roll. this reminds me, i've got some upcoming gigs i shall be attending, i'll keep you posted. my new book for work is hunter s thompson's fear & loathing in las vegas seeing as i've seen the movie but haven't actually read the book, people at work ask me each week ''what are you reading now?!''
