Summer Fashion

Summer Fashion With a Tankini

Summertime is coming up, which means beaches, pools, and bathing suits. So what bathing suits are in style this year, and what style is right for you?

Bikinis, of course, are still in style. They are built for those with nothing to hide, as they're often skimpy and reveal a lot of the body, especially the stomach, hips, and thighs. Monokinis are a newer style that's gaining popularity. Monokinis kind of resemble a cross between bikinis and one pieces. The top and bottom are connected, sometimes with a piece of fabric going straight down the middle, covering the center of the stomach, other times with two strips of fabric on each side of the stomach to reveal the belly button in the middle. The fabric is usually cut out on the sides so that the waist and sometimes hips are visible. The back of a monokini generally resembles the back of a bikini. While monokinis often do not offer much more coverage than bikinis, they are a fun style if you want something a bit fashion forward and different this year.

But what if you don't have a perfect bathing summer fashion suit body? Or what if you do, but you're not 19 anymore? What kind of swimsuit is right for you? Tankinis are great for women who want a more modest cut and more coverage. They are two piece swimsuits wherein the top is shaped like a tank top and comes almost all the way down to the bottoms, thereby giving you the comfort of a bikini with the coverage of a one piece. They're trendier than one pieces, though, and generally (but not always) leave a small line of skin showing between the top and bottom, for a sexier look. With these suits, you can choose the amount of coverage you want, especially on the bottom. For instance, if you're uncomfortable with the appearance of your thighs or rear end, you can wear a skirted bottom that covers those things. Skirted bottoms are great because they're cute and flirty, but also modestly cut.

A tankini's cut, combined with its trendiness, makes it a great suit for the mom who isn't ready to wear a "mom suit," the woman who wants more modest coverage without looking prudish and sacrificing fashion, and more.(EzineArticles.com)
