OPULENCE.

So, it would seem the fashion masterminds were inspired by all things golden for the spring/summer 2012 collections. Golden referring to the inspirational eras being the obvious main influence as well as referring to the clothing, as shown in these runway shots of (top to bottom) Gucci, Topshop Unique and Felder Felder. A cross between Cleopatra, twenties flapper girls and ancient Egypt, all combining together to create a proud, metallic colour plate. It's usually these colours and trends that we tend to see being shown in the A/W collections and then months later as downgraded office Christmas party dresses in high street stores, however, fashion being it's unpredictable and spontaneous self has taken the trend and created summer clothing - short sleeves, sandals & hoorah for not seeing one pair of tights. Gucci, as always, is a favourite and always a delight. The quintessential glamour of Frida's collections remains throughout the ever changing collections and designs.

It all seems to fit in quite conveniently, seeing as my first assignment for my Open University module is about Cleo in all her rich & beautiful glory. It's a possiblity that I could use these collections as inspiration... so thankyou once again to Topshop (you could never do me wrong).
